LEVX® technology is extremely versatile. The size, payload and uses for the system can vary widely. Created from simple components and modular guideways, LEVX® systems are both scalable and easily customized for different markets.

Payload is the primary factor that initializes system design, whether moving tons of ore, fully loaded freight transport containers or people. Other important design considerations include local terrain and environmental factors, traveling speeds and specific uses for the system.

LEVX® propulsion systems can be powered by a variety of energy sources according to availability and prices in different regions. Hybrid designs are preferable where maximum environmental protection is desired and offer extended range over battery powered propulsion. As new, more efficient technologies become available LEVX® drivetrains may be easily adapted.

LEVX® technologies are perfectly suited for use in dedicated freight corridors. The freight corridor concept is gaining attention as a method of streamlining and economizing essential freight movement along a dedicated route. Moving freight along a segregated guideway speeds delivery, improves safety, reduces congestion and slashes diesel emissions. LEVX® technologies are especially well suited as a "first infrastructure" in newly developing areas where other infrastructure including power utilities may not yet exist.

Port and Intermodal Freight

The LEVX® container freight demonstration under testing in Port Angeles, has been designed to support maximum freight transport and increase a port's capacity in annual TEU's per acre by moving containers away from the dock sooner. Utilizing a LEVX® container mover system at or near shipside will limit the need for container stacking in the terminal and streamline the flow of containers directly to railroad yards, trans-loading centers, truck hubs or warehouse complexes.

Moving products overhead and quietly along a segregated guideway can speed transport, improve safety, reduce facility congestion and slash emissions. LEVX® systems may be easily customized for size, weight capacity and operational needs to suit a wide variety of applications.

Environmentally responsible LEVX® technologies can lessen the negative impacts associated with the transport of mined materials. The LEVX® heavy freight system can also lower the cost of mining operations by dramatically reducing fuel requirements, equipment maintenance and replacement costs. Custom engineered designs can support challenging transport conditions such as steep grades or otherwise difficult terrain.
